2026-2027 Guild Challenge: In the Garden

Rules for Challenge:
· The Guild members voted on the Challenge topic and the following rules apply to the challenge topic selected.
Specific rules related to the selected Challenge topic are identified below.
· The finished quilt should measure between 24” x 24” and 60” x 60”. The quilt may be any shape which fits within these dimensions.
· The completed quilt must have the ability to be hung using a quilt sleeve with a 4” diameter or using straps or other implements which can be used to hang on the pole provided by the show which measures 4” in diameter. You must have these attached to the quilt at the time of submission.
· A label must be sewn on the back of the quilt which includes your name.
· Quilts must be completed by the December guild meeting where they will be shared.
· A short artist statement regarding your quilt must be submitted by the January guild meeting.
Challenge Topic: In the Garden
· The quilt features any of the following which are found in a garden; leaves, flowers, plants, vegetables, etc., providing a garden environment theme.
· The completed quilt will be made with a minimum of 6 different quilt blocks which are utilized to create a unique design.
· Blocks must include a minimum of two varying construction techniques. Examples: Appliqued, embroidered, paper-pieced, incorporation of a photo-on-photo fabric, traditionally pieced, painted, etc.
