Program: Tumbling blocks with Dorothy and Michele

This month we will learn multiple techniques for sewing a tumbling block.
Michele will teach the traditional method using y-seams and diamonds as well as a way to do it using only 60-degree triangles with no y-seams.
She will show how to cut diamonds with a standard ruler that has a 60-degree line
and also show the Creative Grids 60-degree Diamond Ruler and the Creative Grids 60-degree Triangle Ruler.
Dorothy will teach how to make it using the Studio 180 Star 60 ruler.

Stay after the meeting to try one or all of the techniques.

What to bring:

sewing machine and basic sewing supplies
light, medium, dark, and background fabric of your choice (about1/4 yard of each)
If you have any of the rulers listed, or we can share
rotary cutter and 6x24 ruler (or your favorite ruler with a 60-degree line (6x12 will work)
marking pencil (one with a fine point is best--like a mechanical pencil)
small ruler or a 1/4" measuring gauge
