Welcome to my quilt gallery.  I made my first quilt in 1998 after my mother-in-law gave me a sewing machine for Christmas... once I started, I was hooked and as you can see from my photo gallery, I have spent lots of time making lots of quilts since then.  I am currently a member of the Country Piecemakers' Quilt Guild of Powhatan, Virginia, but have recently moved to Old Saybrook, Connecticut.  You will notice a section in my gallery on quilts I have made for "A Needle Runs Through It" and a section on classes I have taught in Virginia.  Since my move, I have not found a new place to teach, but I will be looking!

Please enjoy the photos and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or are interested in having a quilt custom made!

Photos of Quilts and Quilted Items made in 2011

Here are a few of my favorites:

Nathaniel's Dragon Quilt

From the Pattern "The Dragon Stained Glass Quilt by Three Swans Studios"
After almost a year of work this is finally done!  I used fusible machine appliqué for the dragon and  designed the side panels to make it a twin sized quilt

Hansel and Gretel
A friend asked me to make a Hansel and Gretel Quilt for her daughter, Ariel.  I used an illustration from a book to create this scene.  It is done with raw edge appliqué

Little Red Riding Hood
This one was for Ariel's sister Bella.  It is also raw edge appliqué.

Mystery Quilt
This is a second version of the very first quilt I made.  The original was a block of the month Mystery quilt from a local quilt shop.  This one I made 10 years later, once I learned how to sew straight and match points!

Irish Chain Zoo
This is my youngest son, Nikolas' quilt.  The animals are foundation pieced.  It is hand quilted.

The Bling Thing
I made this after demonstrating how to make the blocks at "The Minnesota Road Show" Program at Quilting Adventures, Richmond, VA.  I had so many blocks made after the demonstration day that I just had to make the quilt!

Christmas Double Irish Chain
I donated this quilt to the Goochland Christmas Mother in 2008.  The quilt was raffled off and made over $2500 for the Christmas Mother Program!

Field of Stars
I donated this quilt to be raffled off by the Goochland Christmas Mother in 2010.  Let's hope it raises as much money as the Irish Chain!

A Year of Baskets
This quilt was made from a Block of the Month Program through Quilters Corner of Midlothian, VA.  I hand quilted it.  It was a gift for my parents!

Seminole Sampler
I made this quilt with the Country Piecemakers' as a "Strip of the Month." When done in little parts, a complicated quilt like this one isn't bad at all!

Randolph Roadrunners
I made this for my son's elementary school.  Each year the PTA holds a silent auction.  The road runner is the school mascot.  The Roadrunner is raw-edge appliqué.

Animals on Parade: Giraffe
The Country Piecemakers' made animal baby quilts by enlarging foundation pieced templates to make giant animal blocks!  The quilts were donated to the NICU of the local hospital.

Ken's Green Lantern Quilt
Made for my husband-- he wanted his own after seeing so many others I had made!

Kensington Kaleidoscope
This was my sample for a class at Quilting Adventures.  The blocks are 4 patches made from repeats to create a kaleidoscope effect.

Blazing Star
This is one of my earlier quilts.  The stars are all made with templates!  If I make one like it again, I will use foundation piecing!
