Our guild makes quilts for babies in the
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Johnston-Willis Hospital.

Nurses cover the isolettes with our quilts to keep the bright hospital lights from disturbing the premature infants.
Our goal is to make enough quilts so every baby can bring his or her quilt home.

"Animals on Parade" Baby Quilt Work Day meeting has been scheduled for
April 10, 2010

2009 Quilt Tally: We completed (total coming soon!) Baby Quilts in 2009!

Over a dozen Country Piecemakers' stayed after our September Meeting to work on more quilts for the babies!

Here are the requirements for anyone interested in donating a quilt  to the hospital

Tops should be 36” x 48”.  This size will cover the babies’ isolates to protect the baby’s eyes from the bright lights.

Backing fabrics & batting will be furnished by the guild if you need them.

Nancy Jones, Karen Murray , Liana Shrader & Sara Parrish are longarm quilters and will quilt these baby quilts for a $5.00 fee.

Hand quilting, tied quilting & machine quilting are all welcomed.

Quilts are shown & turned in during our regular meeting to Kathy Bozard or Dreama Connor.  Please attach the name of the quilt maker to the quilt (masking tape or pinned note paper) or include your own label.

After the quilts are collected the will be washed and a ribbon with a card (or label) with the name of the quilter will be attached to the quilt.

Darlene Watson will deliver these quilts to the hospital a couple times a month or as needed.
